That’s right, this is the strip’s second birthday, and with it comes a few changes.
Firstly, you may have noticed things are a bit more colourful. The colour is here to stay, along with a new format. I’ve switched from the horizontal “newspaper strip” to a full-page comic book layout. Basically, I needed more room.
The format change also brings a schedule change. For the past two years the strip has been tri-weekly. And now I’m going to try weekly.
Instead of Monday-Wednesday-Friday, a new strip will update every Wednesday for the foreseeable future. This might not be permanent, but it’s something I’m trying out whilst I work on a couple of other projects alongside the League. It doesn’t mean I love the League (or you) any less (I’m more excited about the strip than ever), and hopefully I’ll be sharing something new with you all before the end of the year.
I’m also in the middle of a site redesign, and the keener-eyed amongst you may have already seen a new “store” link at the top of the page. It may be a little spartan at the moment, but I’m planning on adding more t-shirt designs soon and will keep you updated accordingly.
Thank you all for your continued support. I appreciate every single person who keeps coming back to read my latest efforts. You’re the best, around, nothing’s gonna ever keep you down. Or something…
This strip was actually pretty tough to nail down. The details of the actual eye poke went through numerous changes, and I’m still not completely happy with the final result. Although it’s probably better than whatever Mechanistro’s convoluted plan was going to be.
Also, in preparing for this storyline, I stumbled upon this nightmare fuel again. And of course, decided to share it with you all. Again. You’re welcome.
…or at least I hope so.
To save you a trawl through the archive, the time period at which Mechanistro has arrived first appeared here. Surely a pivotal moment in the history of the League. Reading that dialogue, you’d almost think I knew what I was doing.
Hey, I said “almost…”
As a part of this storyline has been repeated verbatim due to time travel complications, I’ve decided to run the repeated strip in between normal updates in an effort not to cheat readers out of new content. That’s why Time & Time Again part 5.5 has appeared on a Tuesday outside of the normal schedule as a kind of “bonus.”
I hope this hasn’t caused any confusion and now return you to your regularly scheduled comic strip.
The end? Hell no. This is just a quick breather before we kick back into action next week. I just thought a little quiet reflection was in order.
Also, just in case there’s any confusion about the fin that appeared on top of the Hammerhead (an issue already brought to my attention by my brother); it’s retractable and slides into and out of a slot on the top (you can see the slot in this strip just after it ejects). Sadly, I have made technical drawings and schematic diagrams of some of these things. If things get dull enough I might even share them at some point.
